Natalie Costa

Natalie Costa is the owner of The Performer's Academy located in Laguna Woods, California.  She is also the producer of the award winning documentary, "Behind the Orange Curtain" which delves into the prescription drug epidemic affeccting children in America.  The Performer's Academy is a school of acting with an incredible staff of film directors, writers, producers and working actors.  Their talent and passion is evident in the classroom.  The students learn from industry professionals the skill of acting, performing and singing.  The student base consists of students as young as 5 to mature adult.  Many of the students do actually work in the entertainment industry in commercials, episodic television and feature films.  Equally as many are there just for the fun of performing with no professional aspirations.   In May of 2010 Natalie received a frightening phone call from her daughter.  Her daughter's friend had passed away at age 17 from a prescription drug overdose.  This was a horrific phone call to receive and spurred her interest to find out why young men and women were experimenting with prescription drugs.   This lead to the production of an award winning documentary, "Behind the Rorange Curtain", directed by Brent Huff.  The film delves into the national epidemic of prescrition drug abuse and the move to heroin.  In addition to working fulltime at The Performer's Academy, Natalie travels locally and throughout the United States, doing presentations and screenings of the film for group of parents, teachers, law enforcement and religious groups.   Most recently she has been booked at 4 sold out workshops for continuing educational credit workshops for Orange County's Child Protective Services.
